Stephen Capewell is the General Manager of Operations Services at the Water Corporation in Western Australia. He is responsible for a diverse portfolio comprising water and wastewater quality and treatment, recycling, environmental management, energy management and oversees the state-wide operations control centre.
Steve has technical expertise in water chemistry and water treatment technology, and is responsible for the strategic, tactical and operational implementation of the Australian water quality guidelines across all Water Corporation water supply schemes. He has practical research interests in membrane filtration, conventional and novel drinking water disinfection processes and process optimisation of large scale seawater desalination facilities. Steve is a member of the state advisory committee for the purity of water and has strong governance and assurance competencies as a board member for the Perth Seawater Desalination Alliance and the Southern Seawater Desalination Alliance.
