Guide for Presenters
The programme committee reviewed the papers submitted for LET 2023. The conference secretariat have sent the authors notifications. In case you did not receive any notification please check the spam box of your email or contact the conference secretariat at let@iwahq.org
Platform presentations
LET has a very limited number of oral presentations, only 10% of the submissions are accepted to be presented at platform.
Presentation date and time
As a platform presenter, you will have a slot in the programme, which means that you will have around 15 minutes to present your work on a power point presentation . The programme committee will allocate your presentation in a session with much related topics that will allow you to share your work within a very interested audience. You may start preparing your presentation using the presentation template.
- Please send your presentation to the conference secretariat: let@iwahq.org before Monday 22 May.
- If you need to update your presentation after Monday 22 May, do not send it by email, please refer to the Speakers Preparation Room at the venue.
Full paper submission
After the peer-review process, the highest quality papers will be selected and authors will receive an invitation to develop full manuscripts to be submitted for publication in one of the IWA journals (namely: Water Science and Technology; Water Science and Technology: Water Supply; Journal of Water Reuse and Desalination; or Journal of Hydroinformatics). Please note that acceptance of a paper for conference presentation does not guarantee subsequent acceptance for journal publication, the final decision on journal publication lies with the journals’ Editor-in-Chief.
- The 8-page formatted manuscript of your paper should be sent to the Conference Secretariat (let@iwahq.org) before the 19 May. Please use the template and find the guidelines for preparing the manuscript on the website of IWA Publishing.
Blog writing
We highly encourage you to also share your thought-leadership prior to your presentation at LET2023, by submitting an opinion piece that conveys what’s innovative and thought-provoking about your topic of interest. This will be a way of promoting your participation at the LET Conference and start connecting with peers

Certification of attendance
The certification of attendance will be sent after the event by email.
Online Conference Preprint Proceedings
The digital proceedings compile all the papers (outline papers) submitted to the event and accepted to be part of the programme. Therefore, all papers of the programme may be uploaded to the proceedings, if the author agrees. The proceedings will be available for all registered delegates, 1 week after the Conference.
This is not considered as publication (no ISSN no ISBN) and this is not mandatory. If you do not wish your outline paper to be accessible for all delegates of the conference please let us know. Only your name and title of the presentation will be listed.
Please note that your power point presentation should be sent to the Conference Secretariat at let@iwahq.org (they are not going to be part of the online pre-print proceedings)
2023 IWA Copyright: Authors automatically hold the copyright to their conference submissions, if the paper is accepted by the conference, the authors agree that their paper or abstract or poster can be used by the conference in the preprint proceedings of the event using the online platform (unless the authors expressly ask that this is excluded). The authors also agree that the conference organisers can send their papers to IWA Publishing for possible publication in their journals. If accepted in the journal the authors will pass their copyright to the publisher unless they are choosing to publish with an Open Access licence.

I would like to deliver an oral presentation but my paper is selected for a poster presentation?
All the applications are reviewed by the Programme Committee in order to elaborate the programme. After extensive review from the Conference Programme Committee the submission is decided to be presented as a poster. Please note that only few papers are selected to be presented at platform.
What do you mean with “platform presenter”?
As a platform presenter, you will have a slot in the programme, which means that you will have around 15 minutes to present your work on a power point presentation. My work was developed by 2 research institutes, may we have 2 presenters of the paper?
Unfortunately, only one person may present the paper. You may explain the audience the scope of the work and institution involved during your presentation.
Is it possible to use Keynote (mac) instead of Power Point (Microsoft) for the oral presentation ?
We can not run Keynote mac on the presentation laptops. Please make sure that you send your presentation in power point.
Poster Pitch Pesentations
Only few posters were selected to have a short slot in the Programme to present their work. As poster pitch presenter, you will 5 minutes to present your poster at the end of the Technical Session. As a poster author you will also have a place at the venue to display the hard copy of poster.
Presentation of poster pitch
- Remember you will have a 5-minute slot. 3-minute speaking slot (maximum 3 ppt slides) to present your poster with 2-minute Q&A.

As a Poster Presenter for the event, we do not require you to submit a full paper, however should you wish to submit a full paper for consideration for IWA Publishing, please do so here: https://www.editorialmanager.com/wst/ You may use the template and find the guidelines for preparing the manuscript on the website of IWA Publishing.
Please note that acceptance of a poster for conference presentation does not guarantee subsequent acceptance for journal publication, the final decision on journal publication lies with the journals’ Editor-in-Chief.
Poster display
As poster author you will also have a place at the venue to display your poster. You are requested to print and bring the hard copy of your poster to the venue and send a digital version of your poster via email let@iwahq.org (to be available at the online proceedings).
- Please use the standard template that can be accessed via the link Poster Template. It is recommended to use this template but it is not compulsory.
- Poster presenters need to print their own poster and bring it to the conference
- The poster size must be A0 format, 120cm high x 80cm wide, vertical. The dimensions relate to the physical space for poster display.
- The digital version of your poster will be upload on the Conference online proceedings. Few weeks before the conference, the Conference Secretariat will send the authors the instructions of how to upload the digital poster.
- Posters may be displayed on: Monday 29th May
- Posters can be removed until: Thursday 1st June 17:00
We intend to maximise the exposure to the audience as much as possible. In case you need to display or remove the poster later/earlier please inform the conference secretariat.

Why it is important to submit the digital poster?
The submission of the poster will allow you to show your work on the online proceedings of the Congress. We will make the proceedings available for the registered delegates before the conference. It is an opportunity to show your study and reach more audience.
